Pcos, Weight Gain, Hair Loss & the list goes on

About 3 months ago, I went to my Doctor to have a blood test done.
My hair was falling, A lot. My hairstylist said I should check my iron levels.
I spoke to my mom and she also told me, just get a blood test and that way you will know what steps to take. My mom gives advice that is genuine and she is my Person (Grey’s Anatomy).
That shook my senses because along with that was Fatigue & Insomnia.
Being in the fresh stages of my 30’s and feeling the way I was, I also thought I may go through a state of depression.
Depression, Anxiety, and every other thing coupled with ones emotional state, I did not want to have any of those tagged to me (I will go in deeper regarding that statement).

I had being going through a very challenging time in my life. Yes, I always say that some people are in a more tough situation and I appreciate what I have which is the love and support of family. l had to gear my mindset but whatever you may go through, It feels like the worst. Go through it and deal with the emotion and frankly, Grow.
With those thoughts, I understood that when you come out off that pit, You bring back your focus to yourself. We get caught up in so much, we forget to acknowledge our own self along with our worth (Not talking Money).

This particular post can get pretty long but I want to get to the gist of it because the things I post must also help you, if needed.

So lets get back to the Doctor’s call in which he gives me the “Tea” on my blood test.
When he talked, I was worried and in a state of panic. I could feel it, something is wrong with me.
He starts off to tell me that: Your blood test is clear!

Clear? Iron levels were fine. Everything fine. But he picked up on Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). He said, with PCOS I am higher risk for Diabetes and the fat builds around my belly first. This is a lot to digest. So my Doc told me, I need to lose weight or go on the pill. Well, I said, no Pill thank you.

I went out the next day, purchased Meal Replacement Shakes & the low carb shakes to have after a work out.
A disappointment that even after going to gym, eating better and having my shakes, I PUT ON WEIGHT.
Yes, you read that right.
So the shakes I purchased were Caesin Based. I never at the time thought about the vegan option for the shakes as I don’t follow a Vegan Diet.
I researched and found that there has been studies identifying the relationship between PCOS and Dairy.
I stopped the shake and now found my self scrambling on what diet to follow. Gluten or no Gluten. What do I do?

Well, I started Intermittent Fasting and it has helped me so much.

My next post will be on Intermittent Fasting, Weight Loss & how it may help you if you PCOS.
